Is the Trumpet for you?

This book from Elaine Landau is a very simple read. In, "Is
The Trumpet for You?" you can find out a little history of the
trumpet and who has played the brass horn over the years. The
information in this book will help the child who wants to know more
about the instrument and what types of music the trumpet the
instrument is featured. This book will help a young person decide
if the trumpet is the type of instrument that they may be
interested in picking up. I encourage anyone that has a thought or
interest toward picking up this perfect size brass instrument
towards taking a peak at this book. Just as my brother played the
trumpet for years in school after reading up on the instrument and
it piquing his interest; I am sure this book will do the trick. On
a scale of 1 to 10, I give this book an 8. The only thing that I
would add to this title would be a listening CD with a sample of
music featuring the trumpet.

Always True: God's 5 promises when life is hard

In his new book, “Always True; God’s 5 Promises When Life
is hard”, James MacDonald brings to readers yet another valuable
addition to their library. From touching family anecdotes to Bible
proven reasons to trust in the Lord, James MacDonald offers some
tips to help people remember God keeps His promises. We can truly
trust in the Word of God and James reminds us of that over and over
in his book, but he offers a reminder of just who God is and what
His promises mean. Through teaching the theology of promises we see
what His true intentions are. God holds us up; we do not hold Him
up. God created us and we have listened to so many other people for
so long that we forget that His love for us has no boundaries.
Through learning scripture and learning to apply it to every daily
situation we can be constantly reminded that He has given us
everything that we need. We need to remember that God has created
us and he does not make junk. I encourage anyone who needs a little
reminding of the promises made to people like you and me that God
is always there to read this book. My reviews are based on a scale
of 1 to 10. This book gets a 9. I received this
book as an Adobe Digital Edition free from netGalley.com on behalf

Starting anew!!

Well I suppose I should let everyone know that I am back into book reviewing. After taking a semester off to study, I am going to be reviewing books again. As I sit in front of a crackling fire listening to Christmas music with my wife, sitting in front of her glowing netbook and I in front of my glowing laptop it is indeed a restful time and a time of reflection. We sit and talk of books coming as late as today and what we will be reading about in the days to come. I actually talked with three authors just today and am very excited of the prospect of doing some romance reading. I know it is not typical for a straight Christian male to review romance novels, but I feel that I am just another person who can get joy out of a bit of fiction just like any woman. If I like them, I would be happy to pass them along to my wife as I am sure that we will be sharing the novels that we receive in the mail in the coming weeks. Please check back soon as I will have finished my first book by the weeks end. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season. May the Love of our risen Saviour be present in your lives always!
